Lies My Teacher Told Me by James W. Loewen

This book discusses how the authors of American History
textbooks are deceiving, leaving things out, and sometimes flat out lying. It
tells about how Christopher Columbus wasn't such a great guy and how textbooks
idolize him (and we even have a national holiday for him). It also discusses
how the textbooks are Eurocentric in accomplishments and leave out others such
as African Americans and Native Americans. It is very interesting to me mostly
because it is proving those boring history teachers wrong.
That sounds like a good book... I'll have to read it, Thanks for blogging!
