I read the book Dolphin Song. It is about a girl named Martine who recently moved from England to Africa after the death of her parents. Just when she is starting to feel settled with her grandmother and brand new life, she is whisked away on a 10 day class field trip on an ocean voyage. At first everything is fine and Martine doesn't have to face her fear of swimming in the ocean. Then a huge storm hits and Martine and six of her classmates are thrown overboard the ship. They are rescued by dolphins but only to end up stranded on an island. At first thier only worries are surviving until they are rescued. But eventually their attention is turned to the dolphins who are in serious danger because of nearby treasure hunters. In the end the end they manage to save all but one dolphin who gave her life to save them, but they are unable to stop the treasure hunters. Finally they make it home safely but not without each of them facing their fears and having adventures they will never forget. I liked this book a lot because it showed the power of friendship and standing up for what you believe in.
