Firefight is a book that takes place in the future. The
world is controlled by people called epics, ordinary people who have gained
extremely powerful powers, such as precognition, reincarnation, impenetrable
skin, and much more. These people rule the world, and they do terrible things,
such as killing people and destroying cities. The reckoners are a group of
people who try to find epic weaknesses and then take down the epics, in order
to return the world to pre calamity. In Firefight, David Charleston is a point
gunman, part of the reckoners. He visits the city of Babilar, in order to stop
Regalia and Obliteration, and a handful of other epics from destroying the
city, and all the people that live in it. But Regalia is a wily and wise epic,
she has a trap, and the reckoners fall into it. Now the reckoners have to deal
with something much more dangerous, even though they stopped Regalia and
Obliteration from destroying the city.
