This book is about how Louis Zamperini went from juvenile delinquent, to a famous runner, and then a WW2 hero. This book is the biography of Louis Zamperini, and shows how Louie went through many physical and emotional changes as he went on through life. Louie was a juvenile delinquent at a young age, and he was in many frequent fights and stole many things. But as Louie got older, his brother Pete trained him to become a runner. Throughout high school and college, Louie became a famous runner, and even went to the Olympics. When world war 2 started, Louie was drafted, and choose the Air Force as his branch. Louie served in the Air Force during World War 2 and one day when he was on a rescue mission, his plane crashed. The story goes on to tell how Louie survived 40 days on a raft at sea, and how he ended up at Japanese shores, where he was taken to a POW camp, and how the Japanese soldiers tortured the prisoners.
